Dr. Laura graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2007, a four year doctorate level medical school in Toronto, after completing her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at the University at Buffalo.  She is currently a Connecticut State Licensed Naturopathic Doctor.  Dr. Laura Sleggs practices as a health & wellness consultant in  South Carolina. Any reference to the practice of naturopathic medicine does not apply in South Carolina.

She was first introduced to alternative and complementary medicine when she was seeking care of her own health concerns in high school. 

Dr. Laura is dedicated to supporting you on your journey to optimal wellness.  She focuses on finding the root cause of illness using holistic, integrative and functional medicine.  She takes into account mental, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of health in her care.

Dr. Laura has extensive training in clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, and Chinese Medicine.  She helps your body to restore health by bringing the systems of the body back into balance. She recommends a healthy lifestyle supported by quality nutrients that encourage proper cell and body function, and believes in supporting the body's inherent ability to heal itself. Dr. Laura uses applied kinesiology in each visit to help to tailor a plan just for you. 

She strives to help each person feel the best they possibly can. She enjoys working with children and women's health concerns.  Dr. Laura is an Autism Research Institute (formerly known as Defeat Autism Now, or DAN) practitioner.  She also specializes in working with chronic illness such as fatigue, fibromyalgia and lyme related illness.

Howard Sleggs, LMT, PTA

Howard specilizes in eliminating pain and healing muscles and joints using a combination of modalities.  These include FSM, trigger point thrapy, orthopedic and medical message, deep breathing, hydrotherapy and range of motion.  He also recommends stretching exercises to balance muscle groups.  Howard most frequently works with neck, back and hip pain.  However, he can help with most any concern! 

Howard has been a Physical Therapist Assistant since 2000.  He graduated from the Onodaga School of Therapeutic Massage in 2010 and is a personal trainer specializing in functional training.

Howard's most recent training is in FSM (Frequency Specific Microcurrent).  FSM is another tool that Howard uses to eliminate pain as well as support healing of many other health concerns including nerve pain, muscle pain, inflammation, scar tissue, concussions, stress, chronic illness and functional conditions.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is a system of treatment using micro amperage current and the resonance effects of frequencies on tissues and conditions to create beneficial changes to symptoms and health. 

Howard grew up in upstate NY and has a love for the countryside, nature, and fishing.

Laura and Howard met lifeguarding in Myrtle Beach in 1997.   Since then, they have dedicated their lives to healthcare, studying and learning together and helping their community.   

They have raised two kids, Ayla and Ben, with natural medicine and lifestyle. They have grown their own food, herbs, produced remedies, raised chicken, grass fed beef and lived off the land.  They are excited to provide their expertise and wellness services for you in Pawleys Island!
